4 Reasons Why Summer House Selling Isn’t Ideal!
After hearing our four solid reasons, you might want to run outside and grab that for sale sign out the yard!
But, if you’ve already had enough and just want out from under your house, check out our website >>> We Buy Houses Miami!
Reason #1. It’s Hot
We don’t have to tell you that summer in Miami is HOT! Of course, it’s hot! And when the weather is sticky and humid, a lot of people will want to stay home with the air con on full blast and music playing in the garden. Families will want to make use of their back yard paddling pools and BBQs, or maybe they’ll go for an extended weekend trip to the beach.
But the last thing people want to do is traipse around a house viewing that may or may not have decent air-con.
Any buyers that do decide to view your property will be overly critical of just how well your air conditioner works. It’ll be too cold, or not cold enough, or too loud, or too old, or too modern and complicated to use… Either way, chances are they’ll be the ones that leave a door or window open letting all the cold air out!
Plus, hot weather can lead to terrible storms and thundershowers. Knowing your luck, you’ll have a house viewing on the same day the wind blows your fence down!
Reason #2. It’s Dusty
Whether you live in a dry area or a humid area, the summertime heat creates dust. Dust, which gets absolutely everywhere! It’s tracked into your house, smudges all over the floor, and sticks to everything. It’s a mess and a hassle. Even if you manage to keep it clean, the smallest amount of dust left on window sills, railings, or skirting boards will give buyers the impression that your house is old and worn out. Plus, when the sun is streaming through the windows, you can actually see the dust floating in the air. This doesn’t create a good first impression for any buyer!
Reason #3. There Are Fewer Buyers
In the summer, most people are gallivanting off on vacation and finally taking a well-deserved break from their busy schedules. For families, the kids are out of school and creating chaos. Time off work has been booked, and parents are taking their kids to visit grandparents in the countryside or to the Grand Canyon or Disney World. This leads us to our next point…
Reason #4. There Are More Sellers
Most people don’t realize there are fewer buyers in the summer. Mainly because most homeowners think selling during summer is a great idea, and they love it because it’s more convenient for them. Unfortunately, though this means the number of sellers is entirely disproportionate to the number of buyers. In the end, you end up competing against more sellers and having a terrible time trying to find the right buyer!
Therefore, it’s harder to sell your house and even harder to sell it at a price you want.
